The 新澳门六合彩投注 Libraries and the Jewish Cultural Society at 新澳门六合彩投注 will present Aaron Kula鈥檚 nine-member Klezmer Company Jazz Orchestra (KCJO) for a concert of traditional and beloved Klezmer tunes.

The 新澳门六合彩投注 Libraries and the Jewish Cultural Society at 新澳门六合彩投注 will present聽Aaron Kula鈥檚 nine-member Klezmer Company Jazz Orchestra (KCJO) for a concert of traditional and beloved Klezmer tunes.聽 The 鈥淭raditions! Traditions! Bulgars, Freilachs and Shers鈥 concert will take place聽on Sunday, Dec.18 at 3 p.m. at the Barry and Florence Friedberg Learning Auditorium, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.聽聽聽

KCJO will perform upbeat tunes and waltzes from the Jewish Sheet Music Collection in the 新澳门六合彩投注 Libraries鈥 Special Collections. These tunes originated from Europe and were played by great Klezmer musicians, including Dave Tarras, Naftule Brandwein, Ziggy Elman and Abe Ellstein. KCJO will improvise and jazz-up the 鈥渙ld world鈥 Klezmer tunes in the style reminiscent of klezmer bands from the 1920s -1950s.聽Some of the songs that will be performed include 鈥淵ossel Yossel,鈥 鈥淭um Balalaika,鈥 鈥淪hein Vi D鈥 L鈥檝one,鈥 鈥淥yfn Pripichek,鈥 鈥淩ussian Sher,鈥 鈥淭arra鈥檚 Freilach鈥 and 鈥淒er Heyser Bulgar.鈥

聽鈥淧laying traditional Klezmer tunes from the past is always great fun for the band and the audience because the only purpose of the music is to make people happy,鈥 said Kula.聽

Audiences also will see their favorite KCJO musicians, including violinist Randi Fishenfeld, trumpeter Chaim Rubinov, saxophonist Scott Klarman and trombonist David Levitan.
